"Nudism Happens" - In the past various groups and clubs held "Beauty" contests and while these may seem easy to organize and judge, I feel they did not do much to enhance the public's perception of Nudism in general.

To re-envision ribbon, award and scholarship presenting pageants in the future, organizations should (and probably do) focus on talent, creativity and skills.  If a nudist organization wants to promote involvement and present itself as a legitimate community-oriented group, then focusing on musicians, artists, poets, speakers, or sports is definitely the way to go.

Nudist clubs have bowling teams, darts, horseshoe and Petanque play areas, as well as the classic volleyball, and these all focus on the competition of individuals and promote practice and dedication to achievement.  These are the foundations of civilization and what set humanity apart from the animal kingdom; rather than admiring the strength of the strongest "Tiger" or the beauty of the Dove, humans look at effort and outcome as indicators of success.

Photographs such as this one document the history of a social movement and aid people in understanding its philosophical goals, but they should also be considered past milestones and lessons to our present generation.  Although they do have nearly instant recognition for a large number of viewers, the message I hope to convey with this writing is "Nudism's past does not characterize its present and it should guide our future!".

Imagery is an incredible tool and Tumblr is one of the best platforms of conveying that message.  The amazing power of combining words WITH an image comes when a principal or thought is explained WITH it.  So I suggest everyone take time to add their comments to the next picture they re-tumbl and stir the imagination, inspire a trend, fuel a movement or inspire a mind to view something differently!  Look at an image an wonder what the people were thinking when it was captured.  Imagine the place and time, or event, and thinking about the feelings of the very real person who were there, who lived the events leading up to a moment, and know all this is possible because people tried it together.

(after-thought) - It would be great to find some people in a few images and get their recollections of the time and place!  Perhaps we need a hash tag for that such as "livedit" or "#livedit".
